Speaker Terer Condemns Attack on Journalists by Police Officer

Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker Isaac Terer has raised his voice over the attack by a senior policeman on K24 cameraman Duncan Wanga yesterday. Wanga was attacked while filming the street demo in Eldoret.
“The attack was very barbaric, inhuman, unlawful and very unacceptable. It is completely out of order for an officer to attack a journalist in his line of duty,” said Terer.

Journalists Storm Eldoret Police Station to Demand Sacking of Police Officer Who Harassed K24 Cameraman

Journalists in Eldoret Town today stormed the Eldoret police station demanding for justice for one of them who was yesterday harassed by a police officer. Duncan Wanga, K24 cameraman was covering the pro-Mandago demos in the streets of Eldoret when the Deputy OCS Eldoret West, Pius Misikhu, ordered him to stop filming the demo. Misikhu roughed him up breaking his camera.

The journalists held a procession from the Eldoret High Courts, along the Uganda Road and ended at the Eldoret Police station where they presented their petition to the OCS Eldoret West.
