The county assembly urged the county government of Uasin Gishu through the Department of Agriculture, Livestock Development and Fisheries to consider entering into a public private developers for the development of ultra modern abattoir that will enable the county gain access to both countrywide and international markets for its beef products.
The motion seeks to bring the various agricultural products produced in Uasin Gishu County into the national and global market. Lack of readily available markets for farmers has occasioned much financial and economic suffering leading to the rise in poverty levels in many households within the county.
