Uasin Gishu County Women Representative Eusilah Ng’eny has declared that she will not defend her position in the 2017 election. Instead she will be vying as a Member for Parliament to represent Soy Constituency. The Soy parliamentary seat is currently held by Edwin Barchilei.

Her move to constituency seat is informed by what she termed as inadequate funds allocated to county women representative post that that has limited her development agenda.

“Women representatives manage huge geographical areas with very little funds under their control. It has been very difficult for us to implement some of our pledges and this has put us in trouble with the electorates who think we have failed to deliver,” Ms. Ng’eny said.
