Kakamega Principal magistrate Mary Goretti Chepseba is the new entrant to the race of Uasin Gishu county women rep 2017 . She says her entry in politics is for women empowerment , protecting family values , and equity in development . She has been at a magistrate for 25 years rising to Principal Magistrate . She intends to take early retirement so as to go for Uasin Gishu county women rep . Chepsebe says no women issues are being advanced in the county because the county does not have right women leadership who can formulate policies to advance women . She also want’s children rights protected . Chebseba is also a motivational speaker .
Mary Chepseba is a mother of nine . She has educated five of her children to university level. She was speaking at Songoliet Primary and secondary schools during the presentation of sanitary towels. She donated copies of the Kenyan constitution to Songoliet secondary.
Women rep position in the county is becoming a crowded field with Moi University Don Dr Emily Kogos and Eunice Talai being among women who have declared interests . 2017 elections Women rep will be very competitive unlike in 2013 when their was virtually no competition.
