Residents of Burnt Forest Say No to Cemetry

Reresidents of Koiluget farm in Burnt Forest have petitioned Uasin Gishu County Assembly to stop the proposed development of a cemetry an sewerage in their farm saying that many of them will be displaced. They also raised health concerns over a sewerage in agricultural community. The members of community also questioned location of a cemetry in their farm due to cultural concerns.

Location of cemetries, dumpsites, and sewerage has always raised protest in most major towns. Residents of Kipkenyo in Eldoret have in the past protested the location of dumpsite and sewerage in their area. Uasin Gishu County Assembly speaker Isaac Terer directed the relevant commititees to act on the petition saying the community has raised weighty issues
