JUBILEE AND MASHINANI PARTY SUPPORTERS CLASH IN ELDORET AHEAD OF PARTIES DISOLUTION

Supporters of Mashinani party associated with Rebel Bomet governor yesterday clashed with Jubilee supporters during Kass Football match held at Kipchoge stadium in Eldoret. Drama started when Governor Isaac Ruto drove in with large supporters who went round the stadium bringing the games to a standstill. The supporters were chanting mashinani while distributing party white caps.  Kericho governor also brought a drama of his own by landing in the middle of the field in a chopper with heavy music singing Timbilwet which is his political slogan.

Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago was forced to cool tempers as the supporters of Kericho  and Bomet counties  clashed over party slogans by throwing missiles at each other. Sports fans from Uasin Gishu ,Nandi and Elgeiyo Marakwet counties joined the fray by singing Jubilee songs . Police had to intervene to stop full chaos. This were signs of tough times ahead for Deputy President William Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta in containing fallout over dissolution of their parties.

The rivals football clubs were meeting for finals of Chairmans cup in which Kericho went away with ksh 1.5 million after three nil scores. Earlier Nandi county floored Uasin gishu in women’s final to win the same amount. Uasin Gishu county teams complained that they were neglected by county government who gave them no financial support unlike their counterparts.

The sponsor of their tournament Kass Fm founder promised to start a Rift Valley football club so as to tab into the huge money in the football as well as develop local talents .IMG_0645
