Speaker of the County Assembly of Uasin Gishu Hon. Isaac Terer has urged the national government to move with speed to control the deteriorating security around the country. Speaking to press Hon. Terer said it is the role of the government to ensure security of its citizens.
“It is the role of the government especially the organs responsible for security to guarantee the security of the citizens,” he said.

He was commenting following the attack at Kapenguria Police Station and RDU camp in Lamu by suspected Al Shabaab militants.
He said that the terror suspects when apprehended should be put in separate cells with more reinforced security away from other offenders.
Terer pointed out that it is a challenge now for the security organs to increase surveillance at all entry points into the country.

“Especially here in Eldoret and the North Rift have been thought before as places where terrorist cannot attack, so it shows that Al Shabaab have spread to the whole country and it is high time we up our investigation to secure our country,” he added.
He also cautioned the upsurge of burglary cases across the county. He urged the residents to be vigilant and report those amongst them whom they suspect as being behind the insecurity incidences.
He condemned the burglary and attacks on people in Chepkigen, Seiko and Cheptiret.
“There is need to follow up such cases as they were only experienced in urban centers but have now spilled over to rural areas, which is very alarming.” he warned.
He urged those responsible with security in the Uasin Gishu county and Kenya at large to ensure everyone is safe.
