Proceedings at Eldoret Law Courts were forced to adjourned after lawyers took to streets to protest the murder of their colleague and other two persons. All the cases that had been scheduled to be heard on Monday did not go on.
The lawyers led by Law Society of Kenya (LSK) North Rift Chairperson Zephaniah Yego took their protest from High Court Eldoret to Eldoret West Police Station and County Commissioner’s office. The protesters carried placards painted in red and adorned purple ribbons on their chests to show displeasure towards the killings which they termed as extrajudicial.
Mr. Yego said that the murders of lawyer Willie Kimani, his client and a taxi driver was a threat to the legal profession.
